Responsibilities
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety compliance.
- Safely operate commercial trucks to deliver freight to designated locations in and around Columbus.
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment (forklift, pallet jack, etc.).
- Maintain accurate daily logs and delivery documentation (Electronic Logging Device).
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company policies, and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Provide exceptional customer service to clients during deliveries.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch regarding delays or route changes.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or Class B required.
- Current Medical Examiner's Certificate (DOT Physical).
- Minimum of 1 year of commercial driving experience preferred but not required for qualified candidates.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Physical stamina to lift boxes and spend long hours on the road.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays if needed.
