Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles (Class A or B) within the Chicago metropolitan area.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety compliance.
- Load and unload cargo using proper lifting techniques and equipment.
- Maintain accurate logs and delivery documentation (DVIR, bills of lading).
- Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery times and route changes.
Qualifications
- Valid and current Commercial Driver's License (Class A or B).
- Current Medical Examiner's Certificate (DOT Medical Card).
- Minimum of 1 year of driving experience preferred.
- Pass a background check and drug screen.
- Ability to work a rotating schedule including weekends and holidays.
- Strong knowledge of Chicago roadways and traffic patterns.
