Job Overview
As a CDL Driver at Apex, you will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently across the Ohio region and beyond. We value safety, reliability, and customer service above all else.
Responsibilities
- Safely Operate Vehicles: Drive commercial trucks and tractor-trailers in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Vehicle Inspection: Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure mechanical safety and proper cargo securement.
- Cargo Handling: Load and unload freight accurately, ensuring cargo is protected from damage during transit.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery logs using Electronic Logging Devices (ELD).
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with customers and warehouse personnel to ensure timely deliveries and high satisfaction levels.
- Regulatory Compliance: Adhere strictly to Department of Transportation (DOT) and company policies regarding hours of service and hazardous materials (if applicable).
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL: A current, valid Commercial Driver’s License is required.
- Driving Record: Clean driving record with no major violations within the last 3 years.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and perform physical tasks associated with loading/unloading.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to read maps and follow delivery routes.
- Willingness to Learn: Motivated candidates with no experience are encouraged to apply; we provide the training you need to succeed.
- Eligibility: Must be 21 years of age or older and pass a drug screen and background check.
