Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles, including tractor-trailers and straight trucks, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the cargo and vehicle are secure and roadworthy.
- Load and unload freight efficiently using forklifts and hand trucks while maintaining cargo safety.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and daily logs as required by DOT regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers to ensure timely delivery and address any route changes.
- Keep the truck and trailer clean and organized at all times.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (Class A or Class B) with the appropriate endorsements (hazmat, tanker, doubles/triples preferred but not always required for entry-level).
- Achieve a passing score on the Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
- Strong commitment to safety, time management, and customer service.
- Willingness to undergo paid training if you have a CDL but no experience.
