Responsibilities
- Operate commercial vehicles (Class A or B) in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in safe operating condition.
- Load and unload cargo securely, ensuring proper weight distribution and documentation.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, miles driven, and delivery details as required by DOT regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery times and any potential delays.
- Keep the vehicle interior and exterior clean and presentable at all times.
- Assist in maintaining a safe and organized loading dock area.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) issued by the state.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and drug screening.
- Ability to read and comprehend maps, GPS systems, and traffic signs.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to meet strict delivery schedules.
- Willingness to undergo paid training for those with no experience.
- Good communication skills and a professional attitude.
