Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks and delivery vehicles in accordance with all traffic laws and company policies.
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment, ensuring weight distribution and security.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the truck and trailer are in safe operating condition.
- Maintain accurate logs and records, including Electronic Logging Device (ELD) entries and delivery receipts.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate schedules and resolve issues.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, including hazardous material handling procedures if applicable.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driverβs License (CDL) Class A required; Class B with specific endorsements considered.
- Minimum of 1 year of verifiable commercial driving experience preferred.
- Clean driving record with no more than 3 preventable accidents in the last 3 years.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Strong understanding of traffic laws, safety regulations, and navigation systems.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and performing manual tasks related to loading/unloading.
