Responsibilities
- Safe Vehicle Operation: Safely operate commercial delivery trucks and vans along designated routes in the Charlotte metro area.
- Load & Unload: Efficiently load and unload cargo using hand trucks or forklifts as required, ensuring all items are secured properly.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with customers at delivery points, ensuring packages are received accurately and signatures are obtained.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in safe operating condition; report any maintenance issues immediately.
- Route Adherence: Follow GPS and route plans strictly to ensure on-time deliveries while adhering to traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of delivery logs, mileage, and delivery statuses using handheld scanners or electronic logging devices (ELD).
Qualifications
- Valid License: Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record (no more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years).
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in commercial driving, delivery driving, or logistics.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver packages weighing up to 50-100 lbs repeatedly throughout the day.
- Availability: Flexibility to work early mornings, late evenings, and weekends as business demands require.
- Skills: Basic computer skills for navigating delivery software and managing paperwork.
- Background Check: Ability to pass a comprehensive background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle record (MVR) review.
