Responsibilities
- Operate commercial delivery trucks (Class A/B) to transport goods safely and efficiently within the Columbus metropolitan area and surrounding regions.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with DOT regulations and safety standards.
- Load and unload cargo using forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks, ensuring proper weight distribution and securing loads.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and electronic logging devices (ELD) in strict accordance with federal hours-of-service regulations.
- Interact professionally with customers at delivery sites to ensure satisfaction and handle signatures or proof of delivery documentation.
- Keep the vehicle interior and exterior clean and organized at all times.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company driving policies, and safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Certified Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or Class B is required.
- Valid Medical Examiner's Certificate (DOT physical) must be up to date.
- Minimum of 1 year of verifiable driving experience preferred for Class A drivers.
- Must possess a clean driving record with no major violations within the last 3 years.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening.
- Strong physical stamina and dexterity to handle heavy lifting and maneuver in tight spaces.
- Basic computer literacy for operating handheld delivery terminals.
