Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles for regional routes within Michigan and neighboring states
- Complete pre-trip inspections and ensure DOT compliance for all equipment
- Load/unload freight efficiently with proper securing techniques
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and electronic logs
- Communicate proactively with dispatch and clients regarding shipment status
- Adhere to strict safety protocols and defensive driving practices
- Collaborate with dock teams to ensure timely loading/unloading operations
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL with clean driving record (no major violations in past 3 years)
- Minimum 2 years verifiable tractor-trailer experience
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Proficiency in electronic logging devices (ELD) and transportation software
- Knowledge of Michigan highway systems and regional routes
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various weather conditions
- Strong time management and problem-solving skills
- Team player with excellent communication abilities
