Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks (dry van and reefers) on weekend shifts
- Load/unload cargo using pallet jacks and forklifts
- Perform pre/post-trip inspections and basic maintenance checks
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and electronic logging device records
- Adhere to DOT regulations and safety protocols at all times
- Collaborate with dispatch team for real-time route adjustments
- Deliver freight to distribution centers, retail locations, and warehouses
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL with clean driving record (no DUIs in past 5 years)
- Minimum 2 years verifiable tractor-trailer experience
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds regularly and operate loading equipment
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening (required)
- Strong knowledge of Chicago area highways and delivery zones
- Flexibility to work 12-hour shifts (Saturday/Sunday)
- Basic smartphone proficiency for GPS and communication apps
- Ability to pass background check and TSA clearance
