Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial Class A trucks to transport goods to designated delivery points within Milwaukee and surrounding areas.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with FMCSA regulations and vehicle safety.
- Maintain accurate Electronic Logging Device (ELD) records and daily logs in strict accordance with DOT guidelines.
- Load and unload cargo securely, ensuring cargo protection and proper weight distribution.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers to update delivery status and resolve any issues promptly.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company driving policies to ensure a clean safety record.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A with a clean MVR (Motor Vehicle Record).
- Minimum of 1-2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and a pre-employment drug screen.
- Strong knowledge of cargo securement techniques and hazardous materials handling (if applicable).
- Basic computer skills for logging and communication.
- Reliable transportation to and from work.
