Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks and heavy vehicles safely and efficiently on highways and local routes.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness.
- Load and unload cargo securely, ensuring proper weight distribution and securing methods.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and delivery logs.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies at all times.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and potential delays.
- Keep the vehicle cabin and cargo area clean and well-maintained.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required.
- Current Medical Card and DOT physical certification.
- Clean driving record with no major violations within the last 3 years.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience preferred.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
- Basic knowledge of the San Jose and Northern California geography.
