Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles for regional and local routes
- Plan efficient delivery routes while adhering to DOT regulations and time schedules
- Perform daily vehicle inspections and preventive maintenance checks
- Maintain accurate electronic logs and delivery documentation
- Load/unload freight with proper equipment handling protocols
- Communicate proactively with dispatch and clients regarding shipment status
- Uphold Memphis Express Logistics's safety-first culture at all times
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL with current medical certification
- Minimum 2 years verifiable tractor-trailer experience
- Clean MVR with no major violations in past 3 years
- Pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
- Knowledge of Memphis metro area and surrounding regions
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and climb equipment safely
- Flexibility for overnight routes and weekend shifts
- Basic understanding of electronic logging devices (ELD)
