Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks (Class A or B) in a safe and efficient manner to deliver freight to designated locations.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment, ensuring the safety and security of the shipment during transit.
- Maintain accurate driver logs (ELD) and all required documentation, including delivery receipts and bills of lading.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety protocols to minimize risk and accidents.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding pickup and delivery schedules.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience preferred.
- Ability to pass a DOT physical examination and drug screening.
- Strong understanding of road maps and navigation systems.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to meet strict delivery deadlines.
- Basic mechanical skills to perform minor vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
