Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial delivery vehicles, including vans and box trucks, on designated routes in Oakland and surrounding areas.
- Load and unload cargo securely, ensuring all items are accounted for and properly secured.
- Interact professionally with customers at each delivery stop, resolving any issues with courtesy and efficiency.
- Maintain accurate daily logs, delivery receipts, and mileage records for payroll and compliance purposes.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the vehicle is in safe operating condition.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal traffic laws and company safety policies at all times.
- Keep the company vehicle clean and organized inside and out.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record (MVR).
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in commercial driving or route delivery.
- Ability to lift and carry packages weighing up to 50 lbs repeatedly throughout the shift.
- Strong knowledge of the Oakland, CA geography and traffic patterns.
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen.
- Basic computer literacy for using handheld delivery devices.
