Responsibilities
- Transport students to and from school and school activities in a safe, timely, and courteous manner.
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the bus is in safe operating condition.
- Assist students in boarding and exiting the bus, ensuring they remain seated and safe at all times.
- Maintain a clean and orderly bus environment, including picking up litter and performing basic cleaning duties.
- Follow all traffic laws, school district policies, and safety regulations at all times.
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch regarding schedules and any issues that arise.
- Monitor student behavior to ensure a safe and positive riding environment.
Qualifications
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger and School Bus endorsements.
- Achieve a satisfactory score on the Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and drug screen.
- Pass a criminal background check, motor vehicle record (MVR) review, and fingerprinting.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment skills test.
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to interact positively with children.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong commitment to safety.
