Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial freight vehicles (Class A or B) to transport goods across the region and beyond.
- Inspect vehicles prior to departure and upon arrival to ensure mechanical safety and compliance.
- Load and unload cargo securely, ensuring weight distribution and proper securing methods.
- Maintain accurate logs and documentation, including electronic logging devices (ELD) and delivery receipts.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company safety protocols, and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and warehouse personnel regarding delivery times and route changes.
- Perform routine vehicle maintenance checks and report any issues immediately.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable professional driving experience.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screen.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and performing manual tasks associated with loading/unloading.
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws, safety regulations, and cargo handling procedures.
- Basic computer skills for logging and documentation purposes.
- Reliable personal vehicle for commuting to and from work.
