Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes following all traffic laws and safety protocols
- Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and mechanical soundness
- Supervise students during loading/unloading and maintain orderly conduct
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatchers
- Adhere to strict schedules and maintain route punctuality
- Complete daily mileage logs and incident reports accurately
- Participate in ongoing safety training and professional development
Qualifications
- Valid Ohio driver's license with clean driving record (minimum 3 years)
- Pass background check and drug screening (pre-employment and random)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist students with mobility needs
- Strong communication skills and patience when working with children
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED accepted)
- Ability to work early morning/afternoon hours (typically 6 AM - 9 AM and 2 PM - 5 PM)
- Must be at least 21 years old
