Responsibilities
- Safely transport K-12 students to/from school and extracurricular activities
- Conduct thorough pre/post-trip bus inspections and maintenance checks
- Enforce safety protocols and manage student behavior during transit
- Maintain accurate attendance and incident reporting records
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and transportation coordinators
- Adhere strictly to traffic laws and route schedules
- Participate in ongoing safety training and professional development
Qualifications
- Valid North Carolina Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with School Bus endorsement
- Minimum 3 years driving experience with clean MVR
- Pass DOT physical examination and drug screening
- Background check clearance and child safety certification
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and assist students with mobility needs
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- First Aid/CPR certification preferred
