Responsibilities
- Safely operate a 72-passenger school bus on assigned routes in a timely and efficient manner.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all students during loading, unloading, and transit.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical safety.
- Maintain a clean and orderly bus interior, enforcing safety rules while on board.
- Communicate effectively with school staff and parents regarding routes and any student issues.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
Qualifications
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Passenger and School Bus endorsements.
- Clean driving record (no major violations within the last 3 years).
- Ability to pass a background check, drug screen, and physical examination.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as bending, reaching, and standing for long periods.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
