Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes following strict safety protocols
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and maintain vehicle cleanliness
- Monitor student behavior and enforce safety policies during transit
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch
- Adapt routes for field trips, athletic events, and special programs
- Complete accurate trip logs and incident reports
- Maintain certification through required training and recertification
Qualifications
- Valid Florida Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with School Bus Endorsement
- Minimum 1 year of professional driving experience
- Pass federal background check and drug screening
- Completed Florida School Bus Driver Training Program
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist students with mobility needs
- Flexibility to work early mornings, afternoons, and occasional weekends
- Clean driving record with no major violations in past 3 years
