Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes following strict schedules and traffic laws
- Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and functionality
- Supervise student conduct during transit, maintaining a secure and respectful environment
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and transportation supervisors
- Adhere to district policies and state regulations regarding student transportation
- Assist students with boarding, exiting, and securing safety equipment
- Report any maintenance issues or incidents immediately to dispatch
Qualifications
- Valid Texas Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements
- Clean driving record with no major violations in the past 3 years
- Pass DOT physical examination and drug screening
- Ability to manage student behavior with patience and professionalism
- Strong communication skills and reliability
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist students with mobility needs
- Must pass background check and fingerprinting
