Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes following traffic laws and safety protocols
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Supervise student conduct during transportation and ensure safety protocols are followed
- Maintain accurate attendance and route documentation
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and transportation supervisors
- Respond appropriately to emergencies and student needs
- Adhere to all federal, state, and district transportation regulations
Qualifications
- Valid Florida Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with School Bus endorsement (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
- Clean driving record with no major violations in past 3 years
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist students with mobility needs
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work in all weather conditions
- Background clearance through FDLE
