Responsibilities
- Safely transport students to and from school and school-related activities in accordance with district policies and traffic laws.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the bus is mechanically sound and safe for operation.
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe environment inside the bus at all times.
- Monitor student behavior, ensuring a safe and respectful atmosphere on board.
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch regarding schedules and any delays.
- Follow all emergency procedures and evacuation protocols.
- Adhere to all Department of Transportation (DOT) and State regulations.
Qualifications
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements.
- Must possess a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and pass a background check.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Ability to pass a drug screen and physical examination.
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to interact positively with children and parents.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential.
