Responsibilities
- Safe Transportation: Operate school buses safely and efficiently to transport students to and from school, ensuring adherence to all traffic laws and school bus regulations.
- Student Supervision: Maintain a professional and secure environment on the bus, supervising student behavior and ensuring their safety at all times.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus to ensure it is in safe operating condition and report any mechanical issues immediately.
- Route Adherence: Follow established routes and schedules accurately, maintaining punctuality and efficiency throughout the workday.
- Communication: Effectively communicate with school administrators, parents, and students, answering questions and providing updates as necessary.
Qualifications
- CDL Requirement: Possession of a valid Louisiana Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a School Bus endorsement.
- Driving Record: A clean driving record with no major traffic violations or accidents in the past three years.
- Background Check: Ability to pass a comprehensive background check, including a criminal history and drug screen.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to interact positively with children and parents.
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
