Responsibilities
- Safely transport students to and from school and school activities in a timely and courteous manner.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the bus is in safe operating condition.
- Maintain a clean and orderly bus environment, ensuring the safety of all passengers during boarding and exiting.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, school district policies, and safety regulations at all times.
- Monitor student behavior and enforce school bus safety rules to maintain a secure atmosphere.
- Communicate effectively with parents, school administrators, and dispatch regarding delays or passenger needs.
- Assist students with special needs when required, ensuring individualized care and safety.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class B with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements.
- Clear driving record (no DUIs or major violations within the last 5 years).
- Ability to pass a background check, drug screening, and physical examination.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Physical ability to lift, push, and pull luggage or equipment, as well as sit for extended periods.
- Excellent communication skills and a patient, friendly demeanor when interacting with children and parents.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including early mornings and occasional afternoons.
