Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes following strict safety protocols and traffic laws
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and basic maintenance checks to ensure vehicle roadworthiness
- Supervise student boarding, exiting, and behavior during transit
- Maintain accurate route logs and incident documentation
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch
- Adhere to emergency procedures and student safety protocols
Qualifications
- Valid Ohio Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with School Bus endorsement
- Minimum 1 year professional driving experience
- Clean driving record (no major violations in past 3 years)
- Pass federal background check and drug screening
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist students with mobility needs
- Strong communication skills and patience when working with children
