Responsibilities
- Operate a 66-passenger school bus safely and efficiently on established routes and field trips.
- Ensure the safety of students by enforcing bus rules, managing behavior, and maintaining a secure environment.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the bus is in excellent operating condition.
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch regarding delays or student issues.
- Assist students with boarding and exiting the bus, including those with special needs.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) regulations, and district policies.
- Maintain a clean and presentable appearance of the vehicle.
Qualifications
- Must possess a valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger (P) endorsement.
- Must have a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and pass a background check.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical examination.
- Strong customer service skills and patience when dealing with children.
- Willingness to undergo required training and certification.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential.
