Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles to transport goods to designated delivery locations within the region.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety compliance and report any mechanical issues.
- Load and unload freight, ensuring cargo is secured properly to prevent damage during transit.
- Maintain accurate records of delivery logs, timesheets, and delivery receipts.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, and company safety policies.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and any delays.
- Uphold a professional image and demonstrate excellent customer service skills.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is required.
- A clean driving record with no major traffic violations in the past 3 years.
- Physically fit and capable of lifting heavy objects and performing manual labor.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to meet tight schedules.
- Basic knowledge of map reading and GPS navigation systems.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays if needed.
