Responsibilities
- Safely transport students to/from school and extracurricular activities
- Conduct thorough pre/post-trip vehicle inspections
- Maintain orderly conduct on the bus following district protocols
- Adhere strictly to assigned routes and schedules
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and transportation coordinators
- Implement emergency procedures and student safety protocols
- Complete daily trip logs and incident reports accurately
Qualifications
- Valid NYS Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with School Bus endorsement
- Minimum 1 year professional driving experience
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Background clearance through NY State Education Department
- Excellent defensive driving skills
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and assist students with mobility needs
- Strong communication and conflict resolution abilities
- Prior experience working with children preferred
