Responsibilities
- Safely transport students to/from school and extracurricular activities following strict safety protocols
- Conduct thorough pre-trip inspections and maintain accurate vehicle maintenance logs
- Manage student behavior with professionalism and implement district safety procedures
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch regarding schedules and incidents
- Adhere to all federal/state transportation regulations and DOT guidelines
- Assist students with mobility needs and ensure accessibility accommodations
- Complete mandatory training sessions and certification updates annually
Qualifications
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements
- Minimum 2 years professional driving experience with clean MVR
- Texas School Bus Driver Certification or ability to obtain within 30 days
- Pass federal background check and drug screening requirements
- First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain
- Excellent communication skills and ability to manage student groups
- Ability to work early mornings and flexible hours
- Physical ability to assist students with mobility needs
