Responsibilities
- Safely transport students to/from school and field trips following designated routes
- Conduct pre/post-trip vehicle inspections and maintain accurate logs
- Enforce student conduct policies and ensure passenger safety protocols
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch
- Adhere to all Maryland traffic laws and school transportation regulations
- Respond appropriately to emergencies and student medical situations
- Maintain a clean and orderly bus environment
Qualifications
- Valid Maryland Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements
- Minimum 2 years of professional driving experience
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Clear driving record (no more than 2 moving violations in 3 years)
- Child CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and assist students with mobility needs
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
- Background check clearance required
