Responsibilities
- Safely transport students to and from school, field trips, and extracurricular events
- Conduct pre/post-trip vehicle inspections and maintain accurate maintenance logs
- Enforce bus rules and ensure student safety during loading/unloading and transit
- Communicate professionally with parents, school staff, and district administrators
- Adhere strictly to traffic laws, district policies, and child safety protocols
- Monitor weather conditions and adjust routes for student safety
- Complete required training and certification programs
Qualifications
- Valid California Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with passenger endorsement (or willingness to obtain)
- Minimum 21 years of age with clean driving record (no more than 2 moving violations in past 3 years)
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist students with mobility needs
- Strong communication skills and patience when working with children
- Previous driving experience preferred but not required
- Ability to work flexible hours including early mornings and occasional after-school events
- Clear background check and TB clearance
