Responsibilities
- Safely transport K-12 students on assigned routes following strict safety protocols
- Conduct thorough pre-trip/post-trip inspections of bus equipment
- Maintain orderly conduct and implement student management procedures
- Adhere to precise schedules and communicate delays to dispatch
- Complete incident reports and maintain accurate route documentation
- Assist students with special needs during boarding/alighting
- Participate in monthly safety drills and training sessions
Qualifications
- Valid California Class B CDL with School Bus endorsement (or willingness to obtain)
- Minimum 3 years clean driving record (no DUIs in past 5 years)
- Pass DOT physical, drug screening, and background check
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
- Strong communication skills with students and parents
- Experience working with children preferred
- Knowledge of Chula Vista school district geography
