Responsibilities
- Safely transport students on designated routes following strict schedules and safety protocols
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Maintain a positive and disciplined environment on the school bus
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and transportation supervisors
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local traffic regulations
- Handle emergency situations calmly and professionally
- Complete accurate daily trip logs and incident reports
Qualifications
- Valid Indiana driver's license with clean driving record
- Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with passenger endorsement (or willingness to obtain)
- Pass background check and drug screening
- Minimum 1 year professional driving experience
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and assist students with mobility needs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patient demeanor and ability to manage student behavior
