Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses following established routes and schedules
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Ensure student safety during boarding, transport, and departure
- Maintain discipline and enforce bus rules appropriately
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatchers
- Adhere to all traffic laws and district safety protocols
- Complete accurate trip logs and incident reports
Qualifications
- Valid Texas Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger (P) endorsement
- Clean driving record with no major violations
- Pass background check and drug screening
- Ability to obtain required Department of Transportation (DOT) medical certification
- Experience working with children or preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle emergency situations calmly
