Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes following traffic laws and safety protocols
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and maintain vehicle cleanliness/maintenance records
- Supervise student behavior during transit and enforce safety rules
- Assist students with boarding/exiting, including those with special needs
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch
- Adapt routes for field trips and extracurricular activities as needed
- Complete incident reports and maintain accurate attendance logs
Qualifications
- Valid Texas Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger endorsement
- Pass DOT physical examination and drug screening
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years driving experience
- Child CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and operate wheelchair lifts
- Clear criminal background check and fingerprinting
- Fluency in English (Spanish bilingual preferred)
