Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes adhering to strict safety protocols
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and maintain vehicle cleanliness
- Manage student behavior with professionalism and positivity
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch
- Adapt routes and schedules during emergencies or weather events
- Complete accurate incident reports and vehicle maintenance logs
- Participate in ongoing safety training and certification updates
Qualifications
- Valid Nebraska Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with School Bus (S) endorsement
- Minimum 2 years professional driving experience
- Pass federal background check and DOT physical examination
- First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs for emergency situations
- Strong commitment to student safety and punctuality
- Ability to work flexible hours including early mornings and occasional overtime
