Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes following strict schedules and safety protocols
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical safety
- Manage student behavior with positive reinforcement and enforce transportation policies
- Maintain accurate attendance records and incident reports
- Communicate professionally with parents, school staff, and transportation supervisors
- Adapt routes for field trips and special events as required
- Ensure compliance with California DMV regulations and district safety standards
Qualifications
- Valid California Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with passenger endorsement
- Minimum 1 year driving experience or willingness to complete our paid training program
- Pass Department of Transportation (DOT) physical and drug screening
- Clear criminal background check and fingerprint clearance
- First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist students with mobility needs
- Excellent communication skills and patience when working with children
- Fluency in English and Spanish preferred
