Responsibilities
- Safe & Efficient Delivery: Navigate complex city streets and highways to deliver freight to designated routes on time and within budget.
- Customer Interaction: Provide a professional, courteous experience to all customers upon delivery, handling complaints with diplomacy.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in optimal condition and report any mechanical issues immediately.
- Documentation: Accurately complete delivery logs, bills of lading, and inspection reports to ensure full regulatory compliance.
- Load Handling: Safely load and unload cargo using proper lifting techniques and warehouse equipment.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A or B: Must have a current and valid commercial driver's license with the appropriate endorsements.
- Clean Driving Record: No more than 2 moving violations in the past 3 years and a satisfactory MVR check.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of commercial driving experience preferred; local NY driving experience is a major plus.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly and pass a DOT physical examination.
- Local Knowledge: Strong familiarity with New York City traffic patterns, bridge tolls, and regulations.
