Responsibilities
- Safely operate box trucks for local/regional freight delivery across Portland and surrounding areas
- Manage route optimization, loading/unloading, and timely delivery of diverse cargo
- Maintain meticulous vehicle inspection records and compliance with DOT regulations
- Build strong client relationships through professional communication and service excellence
- Coordinate with dispatch team for real-time schedule adjustments and freight assignments
- Track mileage, expenses, and delivery documentation for accurate invoicing
Qualifications
- Valid Class B CDL with clean driving record (3+ years experience)
- Proof of commercial insurance ($1M liability minimum)
- Reliable box truck (26' or larger) in excellent mechanical condition
- Strong knowledge of Portland metro area and Pacific Northwest routes
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical loading/unloading duties
- Entrepreneurial mindset with basic accounting/record-keeping skills
- Smartphone proficiency for communication and route navigation apps
