Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks to transport freight safely and efficiently within a regional radius around Indianapolis.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical safety and compliance with DOT regulations.
- Document all delivery times, cargo status, and incidents accurately in electronic logging devices (ELD).
- Secure cargo using straps, chains, and bars, ensuring load integrity during transit.
- Maintain a clean driving record and adhere strictly to traffic laws and company safety policies.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and potential delays.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL License required.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience (clean MVR preferred).
- Pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination to meet medical standards.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
- Familiarity with regional routes and cargo securement best practices.
- Strong time management and problem-solving skills.
