Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for practical applications in machine learning and materials science
- Develop error-correction protocols to achieve fault-tolerant quantum computing
- Lead cross-functional teams of physicists, engineers, and software developers
- Publish research in peer-reviewed journals and present findings at international conferences
- Collaborate with government agencies and Fortune 500 partners on quantum security initiatives
- Mentor junior researchers and drive lab innovation through quarterly hackathons
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 3+ years research experience
- Proven expertise in quantum circuit design and quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit)
- Strong publication record in quantum computing or theoretical physics
- Familiarity with NISQ-era hardware limitations and mitigation strategies
- Experience with high-performance computing and parallel processing architectures
- Demonstrated ability to secure external research funding through NSF/NIH grants
- Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders
