Job Summary:
As a Van Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and timely transportation of goods to local and regional destinations. You will interact directly with customers, ensuring that all deliveries meet our high standards of quality and service.
Responsibilities
- Safe Operation: Operate commercial delivery vans and light trucks in a safe and professional manner, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Cargo Handling: Safely load, secure, and unload cargo, ensuring items are protected during transit.
- Maintenance: Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to identify any maintenance needs or safety issues.
- Customer Service: Deliver packages and goods directly to customers with a friendly, professional demeanor, handling any issues or questions on the spot.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of delivery logs, mileage, and delivery receipts.
- Route Planning: Follow assigned routes efficiently to ensure on-time delivery while minimizing fuel consumption.
Qualifications
- CDL Class B: Must possess a valid Commercial Driver's License (Class B) with a clean driving record.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of driving experience in a commercial or logistics setting.
- Physical Ability: Ability to lift heavy items (up to 50 lbs) repeatedly and stand for extended periods.
- Communication: Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to read maps and GPS systems.
- Availability: Must be available to work flexible hours, including weekends and occasional overtime.
- Equipment: Valid DOT medical card required.
