The Role:
As a Van Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of goods to various commercial and residential locations. You will interact directly with customers, so a friendly and professional demeanor is essential.
Responsibilities
- Safe Operation: Operate commercial vans in a safe and defensive manner, adhering to all traffic laws and company safety protocols.
- Delivery Management: Pick up and deliver packages and freight efficiently, ensuring all items are accounted for and handled with care.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to identify any mechanical issues or safety hazards.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with clients, obtaining signatures, and providing excellent service to build long-term relationships.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate logs, delivery receipts, and mileage records as required by law and company policy.
- Loading/Unloading: Assist in loading and unloading cargo, ensuring items are properly secured and organized.
Qualifications
- License: Valid Class C Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) or equivalent state driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of professional driving experience preferred.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly and stand for extended periods.
- Skills: Strong time management skills and the ability to navigate unfamiliar routes using GPS and mapping software.
- Communication: Excellent verbal communication skills in English.
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
