Responsibilities
- Operate heavy dump trucks safely and efficiently on various job sites throughout Washington, DC and surrounding areas.
- Load and unload trucks using hydraulic equipment or manual labor as required, ensuring proper weight distribution.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure mechanical safety and compliance.
- Maintain accurate daily logs (electronic or paper) and comply with all FMCSA regulations and traffic laws.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and site managers regarding delivery schedules and potential delays.
- Uphold strict safety protocols and OSHA guidelines on every job site.
- Keep the truck and cab clean and organized at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A required.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable experience driving dump trucks or heavy construction equipment.
- Clean driving record with no DUIs or major moving violations in the last 3 years.
- Ability to pass a drug screen and background check.
- Strong knowledge of Washington, DC traffic patterns and road restrictions.
- Physically fit to perform heavy lifting and operate hydraulic equipment.
- Familiarity with GPS navigation and fleet management software is a plus.
