Responsibilities
- Execute safe and timely delivery of parcels, documents, and packages to residential and commercial destinations.
- Interact professionally with clients, ensuring a positive first and last impression of MetroExpress.
- Verify delivery details and obtain electronic signatures or proof of delivery where required.
- Maintain the cleanliness and mechanical condition of the assigned delivery vehicle, reporting any issues immediately.
- Navigate efficiently using GPS and route-planning software to optimize delivery times and fuel consumption.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Handle sensitive or fragile items with the utmost care and attention to detail.
Qualifications
- Valid Driver’s License (Class C) with a clean driving record (no more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years).
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Ability to lift packages weighing up to 50 lbs repeatedly throughout the shift.
- Strong sense of direction and ability to navigate unfamiliar areas in New York City.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Availability to work weekends, holidays, and early morning shifts as needed.
- Access to a reliable smartphone for route management and communication.
