Responsibilities
- Transport packages to commercial and residential destinations throughout Washington DC and surrounding areas efficiently and safely.
- Verify delivery contents against shipping manifests and obtain required signatures.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the delivery vehicle at all times.
- Adhere strictly to traffic laws, DOT regulations, and company safety protocols.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery status or delays.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any mechanical issues immediately.
Qualifications
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record (no more than 3 moving violations in the last 3 years).
- Minimum of 2 years of professional driving experience in a similar role.
- Ability to lift and carry packages weighing up to 50 pounds repeatedly without assistance.
- Strong knowledge of Washington DC street layouts, traffic patterns, and navigation systems.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-service oriented mindset.
- Reliable smartphone with data access for route management.
