Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks (Class A) to transport cargo over various road conditions.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical safety and compliance.
- Load and unload freight securely, ensuring cargo protection and minimizing damage.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and ensure all hours of service (HOS) regulations are met.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve any logistical issues.
- Adhere strictly to all Department of Transportation (DOT) and company safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical exam and drug screen.
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations, Hours of Service (HOS), and cargo securement.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and travel overnight as required.
- Basic mechanical knowledge to perform minor vehicle troubleshooting.
