Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks to transport goods within designated Houston metro routes
- Conduct pre/post-trip inspections and maintain accurate vehicle maintenance logs
- Ensure timely delivery of freight while adhering to DOT regulations and safety protocols
- Utilize GPS navigation systems and digital dispatch tools for efficient route planning
- Communicate with dispatch team and clients regarding delivery status and potential delays
- Maintain clean driving record and report any accidents or incidents immediately
- Assist with loading/unloading when required to ensure secure cargo handling
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL license with clean driving record (3+ years experience)
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Familiarity with Houston area roadways and traffic patterns
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety compliance
- Basic computer skills for electronic logging device (ELD) operation
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and work in varying weather conditions
- Excellent time management and communication skills
- Previous experience with tanker or flatbed trailers preferred
